Precision Alloys

Precision alloys are iron-nickel, cobalt and copper alloys made to tightly controlled magnetic, thermal-expansion, elastic or electrical-resistance properties. The range covers soft magnetic 1J46, 1J50, 1J79 and 1J85, glass-sealing 4J29, 4J42 and 4J50, low-expansion 4J36, elastic 3J1, 3J21 and 3J53, and resistance alloys 6J11, 6J22 and 6J40 to GB/T 15018, supplied as strip, wire and bar.

Key features

  • Soft magnetic permalloy-type alloys
  • Glass-to-metal sealing and low-expansion alloys
  • Elastic and constant-modulus alloys
  • Precision resistance alloys including constantan
  • Strip, wire and bar to GB/T 15018

Standards & documents: ASTM / AMS / AWS / GB product standards as listed per product; EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates, heat traceability, ESR/VAR melting and NDT confirmed per enquiry. Pricing: on request – customised quotation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

What is 4J36 equivalent to?

4J36 is an iron-36 % nickel alloy comparable to UNS K93600 (Invar 36), with very low thermal expansion near room temperature.

Which alloy is used for glass-to-metal seals?

4J29 (Fe-Ni-Co, comparable to ASTM F15) is matched to borosilicate hard glass; 4J42 and 4J50 are matched to softer glasses and ceramics.

Do you show prices on the website?

No. Prices depend on grade, size, quantity, melting route, testing and certificates. Request a quote with the product codes and requirements, and PANDA COLLECTIONS will reply with a customised quotation.
